First Wedding Planning Update!

Daniel and I have set a date for our wedding! We're so excited! It's in less than a year and we still have so much that we need to get done!

In my last Engagement post I said that we're getting married on our property under a gazebo that we're going to build. The ceremony and reception will both be there! So, the venue is all sorted out and that's literally like $6,000 that we don't have to spend!

One of the issues we were having was since the whole wedding will be outside, was whether or not either rent one of those industrial event tents or buy one. September in Kentucky could literally go many ways with its weather. You could have spring, summer, fall, AND winter all in one day. It could rain, it could snow, it could be windy, it could be humid. There's actually no way that you can predict what can happen. lol

Anyways! My Grandpa had come out to our house last weekend and him and Daniel got to talking. We don't have a garage at our house. A lot of homes in Kentucky, I noticed, don't. We've always have plans on eventually building a pole barn to act as a storage/garage. Ideas were being thrown around, and then the greatest idea came. We're just going to build the structure for a pole barn and add the roof, and then later on down the road, add the siding. That pole barn structure will probably look something similar to a pavilion and could totally house the reception for our wedding. And hey, if it rains, the ceremony could be under it too.

It's honestly the best idea and the best investment. We were going to spend $1,200 to rent a tent for a few hours from some other person, or spend close to $1,000 in buying one of our own. But that money could easily go toward the structure of our pole barn that we already planned on eventually building. Win, win situation if you ask me!

Other things that we have planned are our colors, the caterer, the entertainment, who we want to be a part of our wedding party, day-of-coordinator, and our engagement party/house warming that we're actually prepping the house for this Saturday!

Last Sunday we went to Target and Bed, Bath, and Beyond to register for engagement/wedding gifts! We had so much fun scanning everything! The consultant at BBB was literally so awesome! She wasn't pushy and didn't follow us around the store to tell us what they think we should scan. Since we're thinking of 150 people in total who will be invited, she told us to scan enough things for 300 people! lol we both were like, ".....okay." but we scanned as much as we could. There is literally everything at BBB. We also received some booklets to help us out and for registering there, we got two free mugs that say "Married Coffee Tastes Better". So so cute!

I'm not going to go into too much detail about the wedding that we have decided on so far, just in case we decide to change something, and I want to be able to get some more planning done, so I can make a whole, long, awesome, detailed post all about the wedding planning!

Little side note - About a month ago, I started doing this thing called intermittent fasting where I don't eat past 8pm-12 noon the next day. I'll have water, coffee, and tea, but nothing else! It has honestly helped me out so much with controlling my hunger and has actually added to my weight loss along with eating cleaner and staying active! This last month, I have managed to lose and keep off 9 lbs! I know that doesn't seem like a lot, but it is for someone who has had a hard losing weight and keeping it off. I feel so energized and my mood has improved, my skin is a lot clearer with all the extra water I've been drinking, and I've noticed a change in my overall health!

*Like I've said before, I am not a doctor or a nutritionist, so before trying something new or want a lifestyle change, talk to your doctor first.

If you really want something, it's super easy to accomplish if you put your mind to it and work really hard for it! Sometimes you may want to give in or give up, but you just have to keep going even when you feel like you're failing!

If anyone has any wedding planning tips or health tips they can give me, please leave some comments! I'd love to try some new things!

-Sarah
